Wastewater and water courses use the Sacramento manuals as the referenced textbooks recommended by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.  The manuals are not provided as part of the course fee but are recommended for each operator to have.
Wastewater and water continuing education classes cover a variety of topics, such as:

• Microbiology

• Chemistry

• Math – chemical additions, hydraulics, pumping, digester, ponds, etc.

• Technical topics pertaining to wastewater/water treatment

• Regulations

• Laboratory – procedures, safety, quality control, etc.

• Record keeping

• ADEM approved safety classes

Some types of CEH classes are also available that both certified water and wastewater operators can attend for continuing education hours.

A detailed syllabus for all courses and classes offered by Utility Engineering Consultants is available upon request.  All Utility Engineering Consultants’ wastewater/water courses and classes are accepted by ADEM for certification and continuing education hours.
